These are some of the results yielded by the latest statistical and global research on the Net’s users’ languages:
English
228 million users, while non English speaking users amount to 339 million. High income level, a third of the world’s economy is controlled by English speakers. In year 2003, an estimate of 270 million Internet users will be English speakers, while non English users will be circa 510 million.
Chinese
The number of Chinese speaking users will grow immensely in the next few years, establishing themselves as the Net’s second language. This comes together with a total 5370 b$ wealth created by the world’s Chinese speaking population.
Spanish
Will also experience great growth in the next few years. Its strength is based on a Spanish speaking population that generates the world’s third wealth, 3684 b$.

Spanish is followed by Japanese , 3315 B$, German , 2421 B$, French, Portuguese and Italian.
